The notion that sports are a quintessential part of the New Zealand experience has never been more apt but it isn’t always a positive experience. In this feature we wanted to tackle three individual and distinctive issues that we feel cover “The Darker Side of Sports” and address issues of race, gender, and whether we should be placing athletic pursuit on its current pedestal.
